Linda,
I
am finally home. We picked her up at Delta cargo
office which is 7 miles from the airport a
little before 11am. (That was nicer then going
into the airport.) It took that long from
landing to transport her. We came straight back,
but we stopped at Eastern Pet Supply and there
three people commented on her how beautiful she
is. We told them all about her and where she is
from. We went to my mother's house and she just
walked around like she owns the place. My mom
has 2 cat trees, an arch made of bristles that
they scratch their backs on, and one of those
leopard tunnels that has the crunchy material
inside all in the "cat's" room. Rosie
made herself at home on each item. My mom was
going to name her something very unique, but
nothing really fit with Nellie and Sally. Since
Bengalis are known for rosettes and such, Rosie
it is. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!
The
other cats saw her when she took a trip to the litter
box and they don't really seem to mind her. There is
just a lot of staring, and a little hissing right now.
Rosie doesn't seem too intimidated. Right now my mom is
alone with them and letting Rosie just walk around. Mom
called and she is loving the window sit and looking
outside. We were really worried that the whole trip
would be extremely stressful, but from the time we
picked her up she has been great. She meowed a little
bit and slept a little. Instead of putting her in the
back of my Durango, she sat in the seat beside my son.
He would put his fingers in the cage and Rosie rubbed up
against them to get scratched. Not once did she scratch
or bite him or seem irritated that his little fingers
were in her space. As long as there are no big fights,
and she seems comfortable with her space, mom is going
to let her roam. She hasn't tried to hide once. She has
stayed out in the wide open....she even is coming around
my son(2yo). He was playing with one of those feathers
on a stick with her.
She is
going to the vet tomorrow. My mother couldn't be happier
with her. I'll keep you informed of her progress. Oh,
yes, tell your husband that you did a wonderful job
sending her food and papers. Everything went very
smooth...and we couldn't be more pleased with the whole
transaction. Thank you very much.

Above
is the beautiful Xena that owns her mistress Diane, of
Stockton, California. Diane has updated me several times
with wonderful things to say about Xena.
……."Again,
I can't thank you enough for our little girl. The vet
said she is healthy and beautiful. My vet is amazed by
her. She was so calm when I took her in and she took an
instant liking to him."……"The vet is
amazed at her personality. She loves her visits. She
thinks it's a new playground."
……."I
work at home so I spend a lot of time with her."….."When
I am in my office, she comes in to meet everyone!"
……."Just
to let you know, she is so beautiful and smart. She
fetches and will drop her ball right in your hand."………"She
is more like a dog. She follows me everywhere."

Linda,
"Just
wanted to let you know we made it home"...........
..............
"Basil was such a good kitten all the way home, he
slept most of the way. We let him out in our room and he
was so curious he explored every little inch of the
room. We put his litter in the litter box and he went
right to it the first time he used it and ever since. He
stayed under the bed for half the night but jump up
around 4am and slept right in between us:) He such an
adorable kitten and has the best temperament already.
He's very curious, tried to jump up on the tub ledge
this morning when Jason was in it, and very very
playful. He loves the feather teaser I got him, he plays
with it for hours..... "

Hi
Linda,
Thank
you for writing to us.
Moira is doing great!
We had
a scare when she had her final kitty shot.
She got really sick...we took her back into the Vet the
next morning and nothing
was wrong except a reaction to the vaccination...she was
back to herself
by the afternoon.
She is
everything we wanted...
She is the first pet we have ever had that our daughter
would willingly touch.
Alyson goes out of her way and initiates contact.
James talks to her all the time and thinks that she is
his (she is MINE!) :-)
She grows almost every time you look at her.
I
posted a bunch of pictures from her first few weeks to
the following
web site.
http://web.mac.com/mdriggs/iWeb/Site/Pet%20Pictures.html
She is
getting along with the dog...thinks Mabel's tail is a
cat toy...Susan says
Moira thinks everything in the world is a cat toy.
When Mabel comes up on her unexpectedly she will key
into her as a dog
and hiss...Mabel ignores it and Moira settles right back
down.
I will
keep you posted as she grows."

Linda,
It's
been a great first day! The kitten, as I said before,
warmed up almost immediately and slept on our pillows
last night. She's been eating and drinking just fine,
and though we had one accident, she's been using the
litter box since.
She's
claimed our bedroom as "hers" and we let her
explore the rest of the house a little this evening.
She's very vocal, but we don't mind at all. :) But she
was very outgoing - hasn't hidden from us once and wants
to play with everyone or cuddle with them. She doesn't
seem at all distraught over being in a new place or the
fact that she was in a plane yesterday - although, she
does seem to be looking for her family.
Since
she was doing so well we let her "meet" our
other cat from across the room. Our male ocicat, who is
a little over a year old now and a very big cat, was
very nervous around her - and she actually puffed up and
chased him around a little before I picked her up and
put her back in the bedroom - which has to be the oddest
thing I've seen in a long time! This tiny little thing
chasing after a being much larger than her. There was
some hissing exchanged, but no real aggression his part,
which was what we were worried about - although we
weren't expecting aggression on /her/ part!
But
they both seem to have an "out of sight, out of
mind" attitude, so I suppose it wasn't so bad. She
was immediately playful and cuddly after the encounter
and he was meowing for food as if nothing had happened.
So, I think given a few weeks they'll warm up to each
other just fine.
Here's
a pic of her and my boyfriend! We've named her Mina.
She's so darling. :)"
